Volunteers are a crucial part of the
survival of our organization.
People like you enable us to accomplish so much more
to help the thousands of animals we receive every year.
The minimum requirements to become a
MHS volunteer:
-All volunteers must attend orientation at the shelter. When orientation class is completed, emails will be sent informing volunteers of upcoming events and volunteer opportunities
-Volunteers 8-15 years of age may join our Jr. Volunteer Club with a parent/guardian and volunteer at offsite events and at the shelter
-Volunteers 14+ years of age may participate at offsite events without a parent
-All Volunteers must purchase and wear a volunteer T-shirt

All volunteers that will work at the
shelter location or anyone who will be at an offsite event
that may handle the animals or have contact with the public
must attend the Volunteer Orientation Class. Classes are held at
the shelter twice a month in our conference room.
