Junior Volunteer Club

Come join the fun!

The Montgomery Humane Society launches its Junior Volunteer Club!
Junior Volunteer Club (JVC) for ages 8-15

The purpose of the Junior Volunteer Club is to assist the Montgomery Humane Society volunteers and staff while learning to be a responsible volunteer and to develop respect and compassion for all animals and understand their needs for a healthy and happy life.

  • Educational club meetings will be held at the Shelter, every month, on a Saturday, from 10am-noon.
  • Junior volunteers and their parent will attend an initial Shelter orientation where they will receive a list of projects and activities they can work on to benefit the Shelter. Parent and student will purchase a volunteer T-shirt that should be worn whenever they volunteer.
  • Students will need to order a red shirt that is specifically for all volunteers ages 8-15. Parents will wear green volunteer shirts. We will take care of those details at the orientation. All on-site activities require parent to be with their student at all times.

Meetings at the Shelter will include a lesson on a particular animal care subject before their volunteer time.

If you are interested in signing up or for more information concerning the Junior Volunteer Club, please call Mary Hughes, Humane Education Coordinator, at 409-0622 ext. 204 or email humaneeducation@montgomeryhumane.com.
