Come join the fun!
The Montgomery Humane Society launches its Junior Volunteer Club!
Junior Volunteer Club (JVC) for ages 8-15
The purpose of the Junior Volunteer Club is to assist the Montgomery Humane Society volunteers and staff while learning to be a responsible volunteer and to develop respect and compassion for all animals and understand their needs for a healthy and happy life.
- Educational club meetings will be held at the Shelter, every month, on a Saturday, from 10am-noon.
- Junior volunteers and their parent will attend an initial Shelter orientation where they will receive a list of projects and activities they can work on to benefit the Shelter. Parent and student will purchase a volunteer T-shirt that should be worn whenever they volunteer.
- Students will need to order a red shirt that is specifically for all volunteers ages 8-15. Parents will wear green volunteer shirts. We will take care of those details at the orientation. All on-site activities require parent to be with their student at all times.
Meetings at the Shelter will include a lesson on a particular animal care subject before their volunteer time.
